Grief is a set of reactions to a significant loss, usually the death of another person.
The initial characteristic of the grieving process is the memories of the loss, combined with feelings of sadness and crying. This is a process that evolves, where souvenirs are interspersed with pleasant and unpleasant scenes, without necessarily being accompanied by sadness and crying. In addition to these feelings, shock, anger, hostility, loneliness, agitation, anxiety and fatigue are common.
I represented this strong and heavy feeling that shakes us through loss, with two pieces in black and white tones. The first generated by the still raw feeling, represented in black, and the second in white. Despite the solid central color, both pieces have the opposite color around them, because they are interconnected to this ongoing process in the constant search for peace and acceptance of grief. The circle is a closed symbol with no loose ends, just as mourning is

represented by the feeling of love and longing that will remain after the loss. In the center of the pieces we have a thread flowing, like a waterfall, a fall into the abyss, a "groundlessness". Each thread represents a memory that comes to the surface and remains present and insistent in our memory after death.
The first piece is presented in black, symbolizing the absence of all color or light, and is also associated with mystery, penance, condemnation, anguish, and represents the underworld and the end. A dark color, which we easily associate with death, isolation, fear, loneliness, and mourning.
The second piece is dominated by the color white which means peace, purity and cleanliness. It is also called the "color of light" because it reflects all the colors of the spectrum. Here, you convey the phase of accepting the loss as you enter into a feeling of peace and praise for the memories that remain.
